Baby Bundles - This is our way of welcoming new babies and supporting young parents of our congregation. Each Baby Bundle includes some useful infant care supplies as well as a lovingly made baby blanket. If you'd like to help with this project, contact Lois Werner.
Sewing for Others - We've been busy this year making masks and blankets for the Baby Bundles. Whatever your sewing skills or interests, we can use them! If you'd like to get involved, give Debb Cropp a call.
Reaching Out with Cards -We reach out with holiday greeting cards to our college students and shut-ins, members who are ill or grieving, and celebrating birthdays (especially those special birthdays after the 80-year mark!) We also share Easter and Christmas greetings on behalf of the women and the entire congregation. As a special project, we sign and send 150 Christmas cards to be delivered at the Veterans Hospital. If you'd like to help with any of these efforts, including helping to sign the cards for Veterans, contact Lois Werner.
Knitting and Crocheting - See the Knitting Ministry page to learn more about our fun and rewarding needlecraft service group.
Prayer Warriors - We organize an active "prayer chain" via email to share prayer requests among our members. We believe in the power of prayer. To join this email group, contact Kathy Meinking
Our women's guild is actively involved in regional and national Lutheran organizations for women.
Regional
Federation of Lutheran Churches of Cincinnati and Vicinity Women’s Auxiliary
The Auxiliary has a yearly program, officers, and two representatives on their Executive Board from each church (ours are Lisa Schock and Deb Cropp). Often fundraising and programs (2-3 yearly) are tailored to help the chaplains with their ministry (currently: Ewell and Poynter).
National
Lutheran Women’s Missionary League
The LWML is “Women in Missions" and is an official auxiliary of LCMS, originated 77 years ago. Our Women’s Guild is part of the Cincinnati Zone in the Ohio District. There are conventions, programs and meeting for members, often with accompanying servant events.
The goals of LWML are:
At all churches there are two representatives who help plan the activities and projects, and who share the information with the Women’s Guild. Ours are Peggy Kelm & Barb Berner.
